Peripatetic teaching in Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Colleges
I have extensive experience teaching in schools and colleges in Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. I love being part of school life, and can provide not only individual piano and singing lessons, but also run your school choir, orchestra and band. Lessons can be arranged directly with the parents, so that there is no administration for the school. I have a current DBS certificate, am on the DBS update service, and complete safeguarding training annually. If you are a head of music, or school music coordinator, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Beginner lessons
Piano lessons from Year 2 and Singing lessons from Year 3. At primary schools, I go and get the students from their classrooms when it is time for their lessons, working with the teachers and their timetables.
Secondary schools
I teach students of all ages, and cover learning to read music, theory and chord symbols. With secondary school students, it is so important to learn using music that they love! We can do just piano or singing, or learn both in a lesson.
A-level and GCSE
I have over 20 years experience working with GCSE and A-Level students, helping them to pass their exams. We cover performance technique, music theory, composition and set texts. I regularly work with students, including drummers and singers, that might not read music, helping them to gain the understanding they need to analyse music for their exams.
